Our subscriber list has grown immensely over the last several months and we are reaching more MB residents on issues that affect us all. This is greatly due to you all sharing our newsletter! Thank you.
We have recently added two new editions to our platform, MB Residents Speak… which is where we publish letters from residents written to residents, and Friday Round-Up… where we publish short comments from residents to MBStrong. As always, excellent!
It’s amazing that Redondo Beach Unified School District functions so beautifully without the drama we have in MBUSD! Solid leadership by Supt. Dr. Stephen Keller and the school board provide the students, staff, and the community with common sense protocols that guide and direct the educational programs that benefit everyone!
NO on A!
I find it interesting that on MBUSD’s Facebook page they are advertising out of district permits. Surely it’s to make up for the devastating losses in enrollment. Last I heard there were nearly 700 of these already. Why should MB residents pay this higher tax when you need only move to Hermosa, Hawthorne, or Redondo to enjoy the same schools for far cheaper? Are we to pay higher taxes to support out-of-district kids? What happens if Robinson closes and becomes a dual immersion school as rumored?
Thank you for your emails. I’m over 65 and very tech-savvy so I’m not worried about opting out each year. But…I’m still voting NO on the parcel tax. Let the parents who have kids in our woke schools fund this on their own. And yes, this is about as regressive of a tax that you can get!
Last week's edition of The Beach Reporter, regarding Measure A, stated that Manhattan Beach and "local high schools [are] among the top in the state, according to U.S. News and World Report.
If they do that well on the present budget, they don't need another $12 million per year.

I know it’s not an easy job filled with many tasks but I also know the love you must have for the beautiful city of MB!!! Thank you for your honesty and transparency. MBUSD has obvious cleaning up to do! Educate don’t discriminate our kids over masks!!
Regarding the article by Mike Welsh, titled “Black Wisdom Matters,” This is brilliant!!
Regarding the article titled “From the Wisdom of Corrie TenBoom’s Father,” This is a concise well-hit home run!
Wow! Powerful letter. The Corrie ten Boom story never gets old and was the perfect Segway to the topic. Well done!
Regarding the article by Mike Welsh, titled “Black Wisdom Matters,” Just superb! Thank you for this and all that you are doing to better our city!
Regarding the article titled “The Dishonesty of Measure A,” What?? And they got away with it? Great uncovering.
As you may be aware a de facto mask and testing mandate was implemented today (May 5, 2022) by the County, and some kids at Mira Costa were required to mask arbitrarily in certain classes. I wrote a letter to the school board and superintendent below, I plan to do a similar one to the County Board of Supervisors tomorrow.
I’ve appreciated your work in the community and would appreciate helping to spread the word on what is going on in this regard. We need strong pressure from parents to demand action from the school board and county board of supervisors.
This also cements the fact that we need stronger members on the school board who will stand up to bad policies like these and others. I hope we have identified three who can run and win, happy to support those efforts.
Thanks for all you do.
