MB 2022 Election Results
Residents,
As of 11/12/22, the ballot count for the City Council and the School Board election is posted below. Any outstanding ballots not yet counted will be updated over the next week, but the remaining ballots will not change the outcome.
Congratulations to:
City Council: Amy Howorth and David Lesser
School Board: Jennifer Fenton, Christina Shivpuri, and Wysh Weinstein.
Manhattan Beach residents voted in large numbers and were more plugged into the issues addressed in this election than in years past. These newly elected leaders are going to need your continued input to help guide them to address current issues and new issues that are important to you and your family.
Overspending, crime, our Fire Department, homeless, overbuilding, politics in the classroom, parental rights, etc, are just some of the issues that need addressing by our newly elected leaders. We trust they will hit the ground running and begin working diligently to serve and include all voices residing in Manhattan Beach.
There has been a disconnect between our leaders and the residents for quite a long time and we hope Jennifer Fenton, Tina Shivpuri, and Wysh Weinstein on the School Board, and Amy Howorth and David Lesser on City Council will commit to holding periodic “Town Hall Meetings” so residents can be part of the decision-making process again. We ask that they notify MBStrong of such meetings so we can inform the 6000+ readers.
Congratulations to all of the candidates for stepping up to run, and congratulations to Amy, David, Jennifer, Tina, and Wysh.
Some of the candidates posted a gracious election follow-up letter on Nextdoor. Check them out. If you are not on the Nextdoor app, you can join [HERE].
