LETTERS AND COMMENTS REGARDING MBEF FUNDING MEASURE A:
I am writing this comment regarding the Manhattan Beach Education Foundation and its total disregard for the money entrusted to them. Before the vote was taken on June 7th, MBEF authorized $49,999 to be transferred to the campaign to pass a YES vote on measure A-----the parcel tax. The money raised for the Education Foundation was to be used for education, not a contribution to a political organization. I think this is an outrageous breach of fiduciary duty to the purpose of MBEF. I strongly feel the MBEF Board or people responsible for this charade should be fired and I further believe the money should be paid back by the offending parties.
Sincerely,
Ned J. Momary
Now we need to clean house and get the people who funded this crazy measure out of control at MBEF and change the rules to forbid any political donations!
Now if we could only make the Measure A sponsors pay back the $50,000 to the MBEF.
REGARDING OUR REPORT ON THE ROBBERY AT PASHA:
Great job (on this report)! So sad this is happening in our town. Thank you as always for stepping up.
WOW. Thank you for keeping residents informed on everything and for being the voice of reason and truth in our community.
Just to let you know,
thanks for sending this info (on the robbery).
We quit the LA Times years ago for obvious reasons.
Quit the Daily Breeze leading up to the 2020 election, after several generations and various family long-time subscribers. We quit because they did a news blackout on the Hunter laptop. That was the last straw.
The local free papers are only once a week. The Easy Reader avoids our address. The Beach Reporter gets returned to the usual route i.e. pick up and drop in the trash.
So, your emails are our main print media for local affairs.
REGARDING OUR SCHOOLS:
Dear MBStrong: Don't know if you've seen it, but on or around June 1 or 2, Mira Costa HS held a "Pride Palooza" event, kicked off with the following video: click the link [HERE].
A lot to unpack in it, but it makes numerous demands on how students should think, what they're allowed to say, etc. Also mentions the "bigoted" parents newsletter that disagreed with teaching gender identity and other ideologies.
Appears to have school administration endorsement as it was shown to every (high school) student during their homeroom period.
REGARDING OUR REPORTING ON MEASURE A:
Thank you for educating the public through the MBStrong Newsletter!
The Measure is defeated but unfortunately the ill will it created will have lasting effects. Maybe you can spring immediately to a positive action with an email to your loop suggesting healing via reassessment, dialogue, and moreover a newfound and refreshed commitment by ALL to support our schools.
There are no winners unless the community unites in this effort, the MBUSD recovers from this angst and the MBEF thrives going forward.
I don't know who you all are, but thank you for your continued efforts focused on our schools.
So happy that Measure A was defeated, but saddened that Wysh Weinstein is trying to shift the responsibility for its failure onto ‘an anonymous campaign’, instead of trying to understand why the majority of voters chose to vote No.
Great Newsletter!!!!!
THANK YOU MBSTRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
