The Middle School is looking for a Principal.
(We just received the following information)
MBUSD is searching for a Middle School Principal AND they are requesting resident input and feedback. They specifically are asking what professional and personal qualities you would like to see in the next Principal?
Attend the community forum and be part of the conversation:
Day: Thursday
Date: July 28
Time: 4:00
Location: District Office Board Room, 325 Peck Ave.
We see this as a good turning point for the District to include our tax-paying residents in the conversation about our schools.
Our schools must return to the values that have been tested by time. Knowledge that has been transmitted from one generation to the next is invaluable. Values such as character, work ethic, love for family, learning to learn, and pride in being an American need to come back to the classroom. We need more attention on history and more emphasis on civic duty.
School Board approves hiring a consultant to train teachers and staff on LGBTQ.
Two weeks ago, the School Board received 24 letters from the residents, several asking the Board to not go in this direction. The letters were met by comments from some Board members, accusing residents of hateful speech. They were not.
Opposing LGBTQ training of teachers and staff in our schools is NOT opposing the LGBTQ community.
Question: since the School Board approved this training, what age and grade should this be limited to? Does the School Board think any grade or age should be off limits?
You can read all of the public comments [HERE].
The spending approval was $8,400.

Vandalism in Medows School:
On the morning of July 21, MBUSD staff discovered anti-Semitic, racist hate speech, and vulgar images painted across the campus at Meadows Elementary School. The district is working with MBPD to investigate. If there was video taken by the numerous cameras on campus, we hope the district will come forward with that information. Was this a crime committed specifically to intimidate the Jewish community? Was it a setup to look like a hate crime? Or were these kids getting their kicks vandalizing property with stupidity? We caution the public to not overreact until the police release their findings.
Meanwhile, MBUSD made a formal statement that they “condemn” the acts.
Also meanwhile, School Board Member, Jason Boxer posted an announcement about a community forum on hate groups. [see Instagram post here].
